Windows uses EFS (Encrypting File System) to protect sensitive files from unauthorized viewing. In Windows Explorer right-click on the file or folder you want to encrypt and select 'Properties'. Select the 'General' tab and click on the 'Advanced' button. Check the 'Encrypt Contents To Secure Data' checkbox.
NOTE: You will not be able to share or compress any encrypted files or folders.
